Private Investigator Bursary

National bursary competition for academic year 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. Each scholarship will provide £1,000 to assist one student undertaking a full-time course (BTEC Level 3 and above).

The award will be made to the individual student for one year only.

What is This Scholarship?

We have a huge interest in the education of the next generation of private detectives and investigators and as we have a commitment to helping others we are offering one student a monetary award to assist with their education.

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants are required to be studying for a BTEC Level 3 or above
  • Applicants are required to have firmly accepted their offer of a full-time place
  • Applicants must be registered with the university by the 31st October 2014 for the bursary 2014/2015 and 31st October 2015 for the bursary 2015-2016.

A panel made up of private detectives and investigators will meet in early November to consider who the scholarship will be awarded to.

Criminology, Forensic Science, Criminology and Police Science, Forensic Crime Scene, Digital, E-Crime, Cyber Crime, Forensic Investigation, Forensic Analysis, Crime and Investigative Studies, Criminology and Sociology, Law, Psychology and Criminology, Policing, Law and Investigation.

Applicants that meet this criterion are invited to submit a 200 word statement titled "How The Private Investigator Scholarship Will Help Me" via the below form.

    Bury is a county in Greater Manchester, England. It lies 5.5 miles east of Bolton, 5.9 miles west-southwest of Rochdale and 7.9 miles north-northwest of Manchester. This town is the largest administrative centre of the Metropolitan Borough of Bury with a population of 187,474 as of 2011 census. Bury experiences a warm temperate climate with cool winters and warm summers. Bury is connected to other settlements via bus services, Metrolink and trains.

  • Bury

    Bury is part of the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester. The town was initially a parish, but in 1889, the town's status was raised to that of a county borough of Lancashire. Bury merged with the neighbouring municipal boroughs of Radcliffe and Prestwich, together with urban districts of Whitefield, Ramsbottom and Tottington in 1974 to become the Metropolitan Borough of Bury with the passage of the Local Government Act 1972. In 1877, Bury coat of arms was granted.

    Bury is home to several sculptures and pieces of public art. Bury Art Museum on Moss Street has a great collection of Victorian and 20th-century art. The Fusilier Museum is home to collections of the Lancashire Fusiliers, commemorating over three hundred years of the regiment's history. Bury hosts several music festivals yearly, including the 'Glaston-Bury' festival on the August bank holiday weekend, and the Ramsbottom Music Festival, closing the festival season in mid-September.
